Egyptian Minister of Environment Inaugurates Interstate Paper Industries Biological Water Treatment Unit

Interstate Paper Industries (IPI) celebrates the opening of its Biological Water Treatment Unit highlighting a key advancement in Egypt’s efforts towards sustainable water solutions.

On 15 December 2024, Interstate Paper Industries (IPI), member of INDEVCO Paper Making division, celebrated the official opening of its Biological Water Treatment Unit at the tissue mill in Egypt. The project marks a significant milestone in advancing sustainable water management in Egypt.

Dr. Yasmin Fouad, Egypt’s Minister of Environment, inaugurated the event and highlighted the importance of environmentally responsible industrial practices and innovation in pollution control.

Also in attendance was Eng. Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control, who emphasized the role of such initiatives in enhancing compliance with environmental standards and supporting Egypt’s export readiness.

This new unit will reduce industrial water pollution, reinforce circular economy practices, and serve as a model for similar projects in the region.
